About Me
Welcome to Blue Wave Kinesiology! My name is Leanne, and I am a dedicated Kinesiologist based in Cockburn Central, Western Australia. My journey into Kinesiology was born out of my own experiences with anxiety and panic attacks. This personal struggle ignited a profound interest in the human body's capabilities and its pathways to healing and balance.
Driven by this passion, I pursued an Advanced Diploma in Functional Kinesiology
from O'Neill Kinesiology. My education provided me with a strong foundational understanding of muscles, histology, and neurological Kinesiology. As I advanced my studies, I delved deeper into Hormonal, Nutritional, and Biological Kinesiology, equipping me with a broad and comprehensive understanding of how to support the body's natural healing processes.
Having suffered from anxiety since I was a young girl, I understand the profound impact it can have on one's quality of life. This personal experience has fuelled my commitment to helping others achieve mental and physical well-being through Kinesiology.
At Blue Wave Kinesiology, I believe in a personalised approach to wellness. Each client is unique, and so are their needs. I take the time to listen, assess, and develop customised treatment plans that address the root causes of physical discomfort and promote overall health and wellness. My practice integrates a variety of techniques, including muscle testing, to support your body's natural healing processes.
The name "Blue Wave Kinesiology" reflects my deep connection to the ocean, which has always been a sanctuary for me. Just as the ocean's waves bring a sense of calm and renewal, I aim to bring similar balance and healing to my clients' lives.

Origins of Kinesiology
“Kinesiology is a holistic health discipline that utilises the gentle art of muscle testing to gain insights into an individual's well-being. It blends Western methods with Eastern practices to support physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. By identifying the factors that block the body’s natural energies, kinesiology unlocks the potential for healing and wellness within each person." (Definition approved by the Australian Kinesiology Association, 1999; revised in 2006)

What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a non-invasive, client-focused, holistic, and integrative practice that employs muscle testing as a tool for identifying anatomical, physiological, and psychological stressors within the body. The foundations of kinesiology were established in the 1960s by Dr. George Goodheart DC, who discovered that muscle testing could provide valuable information about the body.

Muscle testing works by engaging the body’s bio-feedback mechanism, which reveals imbalances by applying gentle pressure to specific muscles. The response from this test can indicate underlying issues or symptoms that may be affecting the individual. This method, known as ‘Applied Kinesiology,’ led many chiropractors to incorporate Chinese medicine practices, such as acupressure on meridian points.
Kinesiology uses non-invasive, scientific approaches to support the health of the physical body, emotional well-being, and spiritual life. It is based on the idea that the body has the innate ability to heal itself when provided with the appropriate conditions.
The ultimate goal of a kinesiology ‘balance’ is to identify and address the root cause of any imbalance, whether it’s nutritional, emotional, structural, psychological, energetic, or spiritual—sometimes even as simple as an attitude or a forgotten memory.
On a subconscious level, individuals often know what they need to heal. Kinesiology helps to access this information, supporting the natural healing process.

Stress and unresolved emotions can be stored in the body, often in muscles or organs, leading to tension and discomfort. Negative emotions such as fear, anger, sadness, or anxiety, when not processed, can create emotional blockages that the body holds onto. Chronic stress, especially if not managed effectively, can compound these issues, causing further imbalances. Over time, these trapped emotions and stressors can manifest as physical pain, illness, or emotional distress. The body "remembers" these emotional experiences, which can have a lasting impact on both physical and emotional health.
Some of the conditions Kinesiology can assist with includes, but is not limited to:
